Texture studies

2014

Given my interest in investigating how different materials come together, this is a series based on the states of matter. I started out by experimenting with silicone and paint which, when mixed with other liquids and vacuum-sealed in plastic, would undergo various transformations. As hours and days went by, the texture and the colour would change and some of the mixes would end up decomposing into small compressed fragments.

The end result is a series of semi-translucent and solidified fragile layers that generate new textures upon interacting with light and photography.
